Most of the year, Greenwood Village runs on a quiet rhythm. Then August arrives and the same square mile that hosts an 18,000-seat amphitheater also lays out lawn chairs for a free movie in a neighborhood park. If you live here, the next six weeks are the densest stretch on the local calendar, and the pleasure of it is how easily the scale shifts. A stadium night at Fiddler's Green on Friday, a watercolor reception at Curtis on Saturday morning, a folding chair on the grass by Sunday. That contrast is the point, and it is the reason I tell newer residents to save August and September before they book anything else.

The Fiddler's Green Stretch, Week By Week

Fiddler's Green sits at 6350 Greenwood Plaza Blvd, walking distance from a good share of the Village's condos and townhomes and a short drive from anywhere else in town. The amphitheater has a capacity of 18,000 people, which means most nights the traffic pattern reshapes the neighborhood for a few hours. If you know the schedule, you know when to plan dinner in and when to head out early.

The late-summer 2026 run is the busiest window of the year. The list below pulls from the venue's announced calendar.

A few practical notes I share with clients who buy near the venue. The two-night runs, Excision, CAAMP, Dave Matthews, and Jack Johnson, are the ones that meaningfully change local traffic patterns for two evenings in a row rather than one. If you back up to Greenwood Plaza Boulevard or DTC Boulevard, plan groceries and school pickups around show start times on those weeks. If you are the kind of neighbor who likes the sound of live music drifting across the yard, the Jack Johnson and Lake Street Dive pairing is the softest bill of the season. The Greenwood Village Arts & Humanities Council screens "Hoppers," a Disney Pixar film, at Curtis Park on August 15 at 8 p.m. Guests are encouraged to bring blankets or low-back chairs and enjoy a relaxing evening of entertainment in the park. Popcorn will be served, and the movie starts at sundown. That happens to fall on the same Saturday as the Mt. Joy show a mile north. If you have a household split between teenagers who want the amphitheater and younger kids who want a picnic blanket, the geography cooperates.

Inside the Curtis Center itself, the wall calendar shifts to visual art. The Curtis Center and the Western Federation of Watercolor Societies are presenting the WFWS 51st Annual Exhibition, with 100 unique works on view. If you missed the opening in May, the show is a good rainy-Sunday walk-in for the balance of its run, and the building is a landmark most residents drive past a hundred times without stepping inside.

Art On The Green, September 19 And 20

The signature Curtis weekend arrives in mid-September, and I think it is the most underrated event in the Village.

Every booth is a state artist, which means the pricing and the subject matter tend to reflect the front range rather than a national festival circuit. The second is that the footprint sits entirely inside a walkable park. If you live within a mile, and many Village residents do, you can leave the car home for the full weekend. Where The Free Summer Concert Series Fits

Before we get to fall, one bit of housekeeping. The city's Mobile Concert Series ran on Thursday evenings in June and is already behind us for 2026. For anyone who missed it, the pattern is worth knowing for next year: live music at a different Greenwood Village park every Thursday in June starting at 6 p.m., free to attend, with June 5 at Silo Park, June 12 at Village Greens Park, June 19 at Westlands Park, and June 26 at Curtis Park. Silo, Village Greens, and Westlands rotate as the Village's three main event lawns, and knowing which park hosts which event is one of the quieter forms of local literacy here.

Two other events in the annual pattern happen later in the year and are worth flagging so you do not miss the sign-ups. The Fall Fest at City Hall and Carson Park and the Mayor's Holiday Lighting are both, per the city, special events for Greenwood Village Residents only. • September 27 — The Video Games Live World of Warcraft orchestral night is the wildcard. An amphitheater full of gamers and a full orchestra is not a booking Fiddler's Green repeats often.

Why This Window Matters If You Live Here
